Lyrics to the songs

TAKE A BITE OUT OF LIFE by Ray Tutaj Jr.

Take a drink, take a drink of life,

Take a bite take a bite out of life,

It’s alright, it’s alright to take it all in

Everyday, like today, you got to make a way to smile

Take a walk, take a walk outside

Take a ride take a ride inside,

Of your heart, that’s where you start to be free

See the Son shining on in the sky of your mind

I don’t know where my life is going

But I’ll take those changes one by one as they come

And when I’m said and done I want to say I had some fun

Say I had some fun

Solo

Take a drink, take a drink of life,

Take a bite take a bite out of life,

It’s alright, it’s alright to take it all in

Everyday, like today, you got to make a way to smile

Paper-Hat Soldier  (by Ruby Smith, my grandmother)

He was my paper-hat soldier

With toy gun on his shoulder,

Marching off to war,

Those dreams in his eyes

Were never denied

on the playroom floor

He laughed and he cried

And sometimes he sighed,

Never to know retreat;

With a victory command

From the battle-land,

Trample of little feet.

One morning at dawn

A train he got on

In uniform so neat;

With his head held high

He bid a good-bye,

My soldier of no-retreat.

Deep in my heart

I knew we must part,

I saw, not a boy, a man;

His eyes held no dreams,

Just a mission it seemed,

To help guard a foreign land.

Best, life goes on

With no magic wand

Or to it I would implore.

Give back my soldier

My paper-hat soldier

For the empty playroom floor.

BUNGLED BANK ROBBERY (by Ray Tutaj Jr.) (The Leonore Bank Robbery story)

Leonore, Illinois, in 1935,

Cold, winter mornin’ was about to come alive

Suspiciuos black sedan, was parked behind the bank

Robbers broke inside, but only pennies they could find.

Oh there’s outlaws and bandits waiting for the banker to arrive, (He’s got the key to the safe)

The front door slowly opened, the robbers rushed the man and then he ran (the banker man ran for help) (into the street)

Now, simple plans slipped away, they had no place to hide,

Running under fire across the street to steal a ride,

Oh they took a couple hostages, Norbert he was only sixteen (only sixteen)

They put him on the outside of the model T and used him as a shield {riff} (God help that boy survive) (He must be terrified)

There’s a bungled bank-a-robbery its going down, in the town

Lock your doors in Leonore, you better get down and hit the floor

Bungled bank-a-robbery its going down, in the town

Lock your doors in Leonore, you better get down and hit the floor (and don’t let no strangers on in)

(and lock them doors, and pull them shades)

The bandits blasted bullets at the posse in pursuit

Killed the banker and a police man and a vigilante too

Speeding through the countryside they tried to slip away

Citizens and policeman were hot on their trail.

Oh, Troopers Mr. Tutaj and Joe Groman, they were closin’ on in, (closin’ on in)

The fugitives got tangled in a fence and turned around, they were surrounded

(then the leader took his gun to his head) [shot himself dead] {riff}

There’s a bungled bank-a-robbery, its going down in the town

Lock your doors in Leonore, you better get down and hit the floor

Bungled bank-a-robbery it’s going down, in the town

Lock your doors in Leonore, you better get down, and hit the floor. (the madness finally came to an end) {riff} (a deadly end)

(Talk)

The bungled bank robbery went down in history

The captured criminals they got the death penalty

Yes the boy he survived that deadly shooting spree

But Seven lives were taken away for seven stolen pennies.

ALL THE WORLD IS HUNGRY

by Ray Tutaj Jr. Oct 28 2003

Look into the Future, do you see yourself there, you don’t have to be so afraid

Life is like the seasons, but you only get one, spring into summer then fall.

In the dead of winter, life is cold and gloomy, who knows where your mind will stall.

Life is like a vapor, suddenly appearing, time will make it disappear.

All the world is hungry, burning with desire, no one can escape the fire

All the world is hungry, burning with desire, no one can escape the fire

Tell me what you’re thinking, sitting in the chair there, looking for a way to bear.

Careful with religion, in this world you live in, don’t forget to think for yourself.

If your mind is hollow, you might want to follow, might as well climb aboard

Feelings on the inside, feelings that you can’t hide, seem to take control of over you

All the world is hungry, burning with desire, no one can escape the fire

All the world is hungry, burning with desire, no one can escape the fire

Fire of Desire

Fire of Desire

Fire of Desire

No one can escape the fire

Someday you will look back, some things you will laugh at, long as you just tried your best.

Nothing else will matter, people they will chatter, don’t you let them into your mind.

All the world is hungry, burning with desire, no one can escape the fire

All the world is hungry, burning with desire, no one can escape the fire

Fire of Desire

Fire of Desire

Fire of Desire

Fire of Desire

No one can escape the fire

HEY MR. BAD GUY by Ray Tutaj Jr

Hey Mr. Bad Guy, what do you think you’re doing?

Don’t you go on hurting anyone

Don’t you know the Golden Rule?

In the end you’ll be the fool

If you hurt someone today, there will come a day

How do you want to be treated?

How do you want to be loved?

How do you want to be treated?

That’s the way you got to be to everyone.

That’s the way you got to be to everyone.

Reapin what you sow, reapin’ what you sow

Don’t you know that

Everybody knows, everybody knows

You reap what you sow,

Reapin what you sow, reapin’ what you sow

Don’t you know that it’s real, oh so real

Can you feel, that it’s real

Hey Mr. Badguy, tell me how your feelin’

When you go to stealin’ from another one’s life

Common sense will tell you, if you will just listen

When you keep on killin’ you’re killing yourself.

How do you sleep in the nighttime

How can you look in the mirror?

How do you want to be treated?

That’s the way you got to be to everyone.

Oh, That’s the way you got to be to everyone.

Reapin what you sow, reapin’ what you sow

Don’t you know that,

Everybody knows, everybody knows

You reap what you sow

What cha you gonna do, what cha gonna do when

Your soul meets your maker, you see

That it’s real, can you feel that it’s real

Reapin what you sow, reapin’ what you sow

Don’t you know that,

Don’t you be a fool, don’t you be a fool

Don't be a bad guy

What cha you gonna do, what cha gonna do when

Your soul meets your maker, you see

That it’s real, can you feel that it’s real
